Through the years Simone and I have learned (and are still learning) that our thoughts are enormously powerful. Powerful enough to influence our state of mind, our feelings, our mood. Think you’re not capable? Then you probably won’t be able to. Is your head filled with positive thoughts instead? Your body and mood will most likely follow.
Monday Blues
For most people, weekdays are filled with the Monday blues. On Sunday evening, our brain is already filling up with the tasks of everyday life. Whether that’s school, work, family or anything else, it happens to the best of us. Because, let’s be honest, most of us aren’t all that excited to say goodbye to the weekend and get back to the daily grind. So let’s change that!
Changing your thoughts and habits
What is it, that makes the weekend so amazing? Is it no work, sleeping in, no stress, no deadlines, time to enjoy yourself, slow mornings and cosy evenings? Yes, probably. Can you incorporate some of these things to your daily life? Yes you can.
Sunday is a state of mind
Bring in… our own hashtag – something we strongly believe in. Sunday is a state of mind. Yes, Monday is inescapable, the weekend is coming to an end and the rhythm of daily life will once again fill your days. But no need to feel down about it. Remember the first paragraph? Our thoughts are powerful, don’t let the negative vibe feed your brain and take over your life. Sunday is a state of mind, you can create that Sunday feeling, whenever you like, whenever you need it.
Step by step
Step one || Be conscious of any negative thoughts you’re thinking about or during the week. Be kind to yourself, these thoughts are a habit and won’t change over night, but you’ll need to be aware of them in order to change them to more positive thoughts. Try changing ‘I hate waking up early’ to ‘waking up early can be tough, but I am thankful for another day’, for example. Remember, our thoughts are powerful!
Step two || Consciously create moments in your day to day life that are relaxing, enjoyable, positive – that give you that Sunday feeling. Prepare a healthy and delicious breakfast, put down your work in the evening and enjoy it like you would during the weekend, take breaks and relax your muscles at work or school (don’t cramp up!) and make an effort to enjoy life. Even when it’s hard (look for the little things).
There are plenty more things you can do to create that Sunday feeling. Check our other blogposts and our Instagram feed for more inspiration!
