We love books. We love slow living. We love beautiful images. We love books on slow living with beautiful images. Need we say more? Here are three of our favourites.
Calm – Michael Acton Smith
We’ve already been using the app for daily moments of meditation, but we had to get the book to go along with it. This book is playful, interactive, fun and provides simple tools and ideas for changing habits that’ll create a more mindful, focussed and creative life. It’s all about the little things and mastering simple habits to change your life for the better. If you like making lists, inspirational stories, reflecting on your own life and loads of inspirational to-do’s, this is the one for you. ‘Calm’ also makes for a great gift, but I would recommend buying one for yourself as well!
The principles of uncertainty – Maira Kalman
Not necessarily about slow living per se, this book by Maira Kalman is a wonderful collection of quirky drawings and short notes on seemingly random everyday things, people and situations. But isn’t life about the little things? It’s a great book to sit down, relax, flip through the pages and let the images take over. Something different!
The Kinfolk Home
We recently shared our ideas for creating a calm home. And that’s no coincidence. Simone’s currently moving house and literally creating her own happy space in a new city and we’re both convinced a home has to be the place where your soul feels most happy and your battery gets recharged. The Kinfolk Home is definitely a huge inspiration for us. This – eye-candy – book is filled with beautiful interiors, amazing stories and inspirational ideas. Flipping through the pages and reading the stories will guaranteed make you want to create your own calm home for slow living. And a bonus, this book looks great on any coffee table!
