The best Sunday morning?
Ah, Sunday mornings… The best are when I can wake up slow. No rush to get out of bed anytime soon. Hide under the covers just a little longer. Maybe read a few pages in a book. Scroll through pretty images on Instagram. And then, when I finally manage to get up, make an elaborate breakfast (or by that time, brunch). Pancakes. Oatmeal porridge. Or waffles (my latest addiction since I bought a waffle iron). Finally, the most important question arises: will this Sunday be a pyjamas-all-day kind of day?
What do you love most about mornings?
Do you remember how they always tell you to sleep on it? Things really look different after a good night’s sleep. Every morning could be the start of something new. A fresh new day ahead, full of opportunities and experiences. Yesterday’s tiny worries seem a little less important in the morning.
What is the first thing you do on a weekday morning?
On weekdays, I snooze as long as possible. In fact, I set my alarm just so I can wake up slow. I try to ignore any app notifications on my phone until I leave the door, but we all know how that plays out sometimes… As soon as I get out of bed, I take a quick shower to help me wake up. For breakfast, I like to sit down for some coconut yoghurt with homemade granola and fruit. Or toast with butter and honey. Then I rush out the door to get the bus to work!
Is there anything you would like to incorporate into your morning routine?
I would love adding a regular yoga practice as soon as I move to the city. Curious to try the early morning classes and experience what kind of effect they’ll have on the rest of my day. Workdays especially. Can you imagine, going to the a power yoga class at 7.00 in the morning?
